Buried or Lifted?

If you find yourself at the bottom of a deep hole in the ground, and somebody starts shovelling dirt into the hole, what are you going to do?

Are you going to give up and leave yourself to being buried, or are you going to step up on top of each fresh mound of dirt until you’re finally able to step out of the hole?

It all depends on whether you look at the dirt as something that will bury you or as something that can lift you higher.

In short, it’s a matter of attitude and perspective. Every day, problems, frustrations, challenges and uncertainty are heaped upon you. They can bury you if you let them. Or, they can lift you if you’ll step up to them.

Which will it be? Don’t stand still and let yourself get buried when, with a bit of effort, you can use the very same situation to lift yourself up.

Do You Have A Quiet Moment?

There is much you can know through silence. There is much you can learn by quieting your thoughts for a while.

There’s no need to attempt to stop those thoughts from coming. Simply choose not to hold on to them, and soon they will recede from you on their own.  Make the choice to disconnect yourself for a time from your judgments and analyses. Allow yourself to simply be.

Take in the beauty of life without feeling the need to do anything about it. Know fully the extraordinary experience of being alive, aware, and accepting of all the goodness that is there to fill you.

Put a little distance between yourself and the confusion, dilemmas and anxieties that so often insist on grabbing your attention. Give yourself the opportunity to remember who you truly are.

Spend some time enjoying the quiet and profound beauty of being alive. It will fill you with a powerful energy that can add value to all you do.

What reflection do you see?

Be a friend, and you will have a friend. Give, and you receive.  Teach, and you will learn. Offer encouragement, and you’ll be lifted up.  Listen intently, seeking to truly understand, and you will be understood. Be respectful and you’ll be respected.

Life is a mirror that reflects back to you what you think, what you expect, what you feel, and what you do. The way to improve the reflection is to improve what’s being reflected.

Be the love, be the compassion, be the strength, be the responsibility that you wish to see in others. Be the best example you can imagine and you’ll be pleased with how your example is followed.  The way you most sincerely live is magnified by all that is around you.

The Questions Galore Meme, Part 1

Welcome back to Sunday Stealing which originated on WTIT: The Blog authored by Bud Weiser. Here we will steal all types of memes from every corner of the blogosphere. Our promise to you is that we will work hard to find the most interesting and intelligent memes. You may have heard of the expression, “honor amongst thieves”. In that age-old tradition, we also have our rules. First, we always credit the blog that we stole it from and we will “fess up” to the blog owner where we stole the meme. We also provide a link to the victim’s post. (It’s our way of saying “Thanks!”) We do sometimes edit the original meme, usually to make it more relevant to our global players, to challenge our players, sometimes to select that meme’s best questions, or simply to make it less repetitive from either this new meme or recently asked questions from a prior featured meme. Let’s go!!!

0000Today we ripped off a blogger named Jenni from the blog Juniper’s Jungle. It’s long, so we will do it in parts. She states that she found this meme Budgies blog. But, it was probably stolen there as well. So, of course, that will be as far as we go. Tracing back our theft’s thieves might take some time. Take the time to comment on other player’s posts. It’s a great way to make new friends! Link back to us at Sunday Stealing!

BER month starts now

Christmas_tree_sxc_hu What does that mean? Christmas is in the air. It was and will always be my favorite holiday of the year. My fond for Christmas has grown deeper and deeper as I learned the true essence of it.

The chilly air and the cold nights are perfect for snuggling the little ones and the hubby. The Christmas lights and colorful lanterns will soon be adorned on the sreet. Christmas songs will soon be heard in every corner and the smell of Bibingka and Puto Bumbong will soon be just around the block. Few days before Christmas, streets will be packed with people during the dawn to attend Simbang Gabi.

On the side note, I should start shopping for our tree as well as color coordinated balls and ribbons. Gift shopping is next. Well see..

Let’s all enjoy that start of the BER month now!

The Christmas Song

Chestnuts roasting on an open fire,
Jack Frost nipping on your nose,
Yuletide carols being sung by a choir,
And folks dressed up like Eskimos.

Everybody knows a turkey and some mistletoe,
Help to make the season bright.
Tiny tots with their eyes all aglow,
Will find it hard to sleep tonight.

They know that Santa’s on his way;
He’s loaded lots of toys and goodies on his sleigh.
And every mother’s child is going to spy,
To see if reindeer really know how to fly.

And so I’m offering this simple phrase,
To kids from one to ninety-two,
Although its been said many times, many ways,
A very Merry Christmas to you

What are you going to do about it?

Are you frustrated and burned out? What are you going to do about it?

Is there something you really want to achieve? What are you going to do about it?

What are you going to do today, right this moment? What actions will you take to end your frustration, to achieve your dream, to take advantage of opportunity?

Success and achievement depend NOT on how much you complain, or on your ability to garner sympathy from others, but on what you do. And right now is the time to start.

Go ahead and move beyond the frustration, begin to work toward the dream, and make the most of your best possibilities. Go ahead right now and do something positive and effective about it.
